In the world of the Brotherhood, the calendar begins and ends on Palm Sunday.
Holy Week, seen by the general public, is a magnificent sight, but like the purest Portuguese fado, the intense emotion of the experience warns you that the longed-for dream is beginning to fade.
Thousands of people crowded into the immense bullas ready to enjoy a brief and ephemeral moment; as beautiful as the setting of the sun or the passing of a shooting star. But after that moment, the crowd disperses and silence begins to reign.
This is how the brotherhood member on foot experiences the processions every day. Marching from one place to another looking for the passing of the pasos. But in every Holy Week brotherhood that processes through the streets, there is another reality. One in which, when the pasos take to the streets, a new world blossoms.
The Procession is a spectacle that aims to use the magnifying glass and take the spectator into the micro-world of the back of a paso. Every time a paso is raised, the procession is transformed and, although what happens there may seem simple and everyday, it is full of nuances and peculiarities in which this show turns them into an immersive experience and elevates it to art in capital letters.
A dance company ‘Escuela de Danza Mirko Vullo’, a symphonic orchestra ‘Orquesta Filarmonía de Sevilla’ and the best cornetas of Andalusia, will be in charge of representing this show, created by Francisco Javier Torres Simón, which will stage these magical moments through music and dance.
The ‘aguaor’, the ‘pertiguero’, the relays of ‘cargadores’ and ‘costaleros’, the spontaneous ‘saeta’, the penitential devotees crowding behind the procession and, of course… the noise.
The Procession is that picture of Holy Week that any band leader would experience in the front row, and that everyone will be able to discover through this spectacle.
